Communication

Learn how DuroMatch uses notifications, League Notices, Administrative Messages, and Polls to keep you informed and help you respond when action is needed.

Notifications

DuroMatch uses notifications to keep you informed about activity that requires your attention. Rather than needing to check every league, tournament, or team manually, important events are delivered directly to your Notifications page.

Many notifications include links that take you directly to the appropriate page so you can respond quickly.

Examples of notifications include:

  • Tournament invitations
  • Challenge invitations
  • Match result reports awaiting confirmation
  • Tournament dispute activity
  • Team invitations and requests
  • League Notices
  • Administrative Messages
  • Polls that require your attention

Checking your notifications regularly is the easiest way to stay informed and avoid missing important activity.

Responding to Notifications

Most notifications are more than simple messages—they are the starting point for an action.

Selecting a notification will usually take you directly to the page where the action can be completed. For example:

  • A tournament invitation notification opens your Tournament Invitations page.
  • A challenge invitation notification opens the challenge so you can respond.
  • A match result notification opens the match so you can confirm or dispute the reported result.
  • A poll notification opens the poll so you can review it and cast your vote.

Some notifications provide information only, while others require a response before an activity can continue.

Things to Know

  • Check your notifications regularly.
  • Unread indicators help you identify new items.
  • Some notifications require timely action to avoid delaying tournaments or league activity.
  • Following the notification link is usually the quickest way to reach the appropriate page.

League Notices

League Notices allow league administrators to communicate important information to all members of a league.

Unlike personal notifications, which are directed to individual users, League Notices are shared with the league community. They are used for information that affects the league as a whole rather than one particular player or team.

League Notices may include:

  • League announcements
  • Schedule changes
  • Upcoming tournaments
  • Seasonal information
  • Facility updates
  • Rule clarifications
  • Other important league news

The most recent League Notices appear near the top of the League page so members can find them easily.

Things to Know

  • League Notices are visible on the League page.
  • New notices may also generate notifications so they are not overlooked.
  • League administrators may post notices when important information needs to be shared.
  • Checking League Notices helps you stay informed about changes affecting your league.

Administrative Messages

Administrative Messages allow DuroMatch administrators to communicate with members at different levels of the platform.

Depending on the situation, a message may be directed to:

  • Individual users
  • Members of a specific league
  • A city or region
  • An entire country
  • All DuroMatch members

Administrative Messages are used when information needs to reach a selected audience rather than appearing as a general League Notice.

Examples include:

  • Platform announcements
  • Policy updates
  • New feature announcements
  • Maintenance notifications
  • Tournament announcements
  • Community information

When an Administrative Message requires your attention, DuroMatch will notify you and provide access to the message.

Things to Know

  • Administrative Messages are available only to their intended audience.
  • Messages remain available for future reference after they have been read.
  • Some messages are informational, while others may ask you to take a specific action.
  • Platform-wide announcements may be available to all DuroMatch members.

Polls

DuroMatch Polls allow administrators to gather feedback and make decisions with input from eligible members of the community.

Polls may be used to ask members for their opinions, measure interest in future activities, or conduct votes on matters affecting a league or another administrative area.

When a new poll is available, DuroMatch notifies eligible participants. Selecting the notification takes you to the poll, where you can review the question and submit your response.

Things to Know

  • Only eligible participants may vote in a poll.
  • Each participant may vote only once.
  • Unread indicators help you identify polls you have not yet opened.
  • A poll may still show that your vote is pending after you have opened it.
  • Completed polls may remain available for later review.

Participating in Polls

Polls may be informational, advisory, or used to make official community decisions.

Depending on the poll, you may be asked to:

  • Vote Yes or No on a proposal.
  • Choose from several available options.
  • Express your level of interest in an activity or event.
  • Help administrators plan future leagues or tournaments.

Some polls gather opinions, while others may determine an official outcome according to the applicable DuroMatch rules. Before voting, read the full question and any additional information supplied by the administrator.

Things to Know

  • Vote carefully before submitting your response.
  • Polls may remain open for a limited time.
  • Results may be displayed according to the way the poll was configured.
  • Community participation helps administrators make better-informed decisions.
